Hypnotherapy is a fast-acting listening and talking therapy that combines a variety of tools tailored your personality and needs, to achieve a desired specific outcome. Through hypnosis, your unconscious mind quickly and easily makes positive changes to your attitudes, behaviours and habits, changing your thought patterns and feelings for so many issues.

 

Hypnotherapy is non-invasive and has no side effects. And as its a brief form of therapy it is typically more affordable than other therapies such as counselling. Whats more, it can easily be learnt and practiced at home.

Prior to your Hypnotherapy session we will discuss the your goals and the methods that I will use through a free consultation. I will then tailor your session to you individually. During the session we go through a series of techniques to relax your whole body and then the mind. I use a soft, slow voice to help you relax and focus.

This may involve describing relaxing images. I will guide you into a trance-like state where I will make positive suggestions to help you achieve your goals. ​Some people worry that they will tell their darkest secrets and not be in control.

This is a myth, you will be fully in control at all times throughout the session. It is used to increase positive states of mind and make profound shifts in your limiting beliefs. ​

Q: Will I lose control or be unconscious during hypnosis?
No. You’re always in control. Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state — like a deep meditation — where you remain aware and can choose to stop at any time.

Q: Can everyone be hypnotised?
Yes, most people can enter a hypnotic state — especially if they’re willing and open. It’s simply a focused state of relaxation, and I guide you gently into it.

Q: Will I say or do anything embarrassing?
No. Hypnotherapy is nothing like stage hypnosis. You will not do or say anything you wouldn't normally feel comfortable with.

Q: How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals but most clients book a programme of four sessions.

Q: Can hypnotherapy help with trauma or emotional healing?
Yes — and I hold this work with great care. Hypnotherapy can help gently release subconscious emotional blocks and unresolved trauma. I always ensure you're supported, using an intuitive, trauma-sensitive approach.

Q: Is this like counselling or therapy?
It can complement other therapies beautifully, but it’s not the same. Hypnotherapy works more directly with the subconscious, which is why change can often happen more quickly or with less “talking through” than traditional counselling.
